Very clean and functional room. Included breakfast was ok, not as much variety as some, but enough. Location for this price near Schwangau castles is nearly unmatched. Most rooms have a balcony with a view of the mountains. Some would have a view of the castles, but is blocked by a gigantic pine tree :)
The opening time for check in is a bit short (3pm to 8pm) although it is apparently possible to check in at a nearby hotel if guests get there later.

The clerk at the front desk did a wonderful job explaining things to us. She recommended a lovely restaurant, which we dined in both nights. The location was good for walkers. This hotel is not in Fussen, but 2 km outside of it. We found that we could go to Fussen and enjoy the shopping and city amenities, but were happy we went back to Schwangau-Horn which was closer to the castles and a bit quieter.

The room was nice with a little balcony. The beds were very comfortable. It was pretty typical for a German hotel room: very clean with few frills. Breakfast was very good. It wasn't directly by the castles so the area was much quieter, and we received a coupon from the hotel to get 4 Euros each off of the Neuschwanstein tour price. All in all a very pleasant experience.
We ended up walking quite a bit farther than we might have liked. We didn't have a car, so we walked from the train station to Hohenschwangau to the hotel, probably about 8 kilometers in all if you take the shortest paths. You can get a bus to Hohenschwangau, but not to the hotel. We also had a little trouble finding a restaurant for dinner without going all the way back to where the castles are, but it worked out and we ate very well at a hotel just down the street.

The rooms were quite spacious and equipped with a large balcony with a table and chairs, making it a very comfortable hotel for more than just one night.
The staff, while not unhelpful, weren't particularly friendly, either.

It is a great value for the money. At the end I could not believe what I was paying considering that the hotel is very nice and the breakfast was very good. They even give you a discount card for the entrance to the castles. The personnel was always friendly. I would totally come back.

Simple rooms and decor, but very clean. They had a bed ready to go, in our room, for our daughter (2 years old). The complimentary breakfast was served in a delightful dining room, with reserved tables. There was fresh coffee waiting on us, and hot chocolate for our daughter. The food was simple, but very good and well prepared. Hotel staff was there when you needed them, but never hovering. Great views to the castles, and very close, without the huge price tag that came with staying next to them. All in all, a great little hotel.
Our room was right next to the road, so we had some traffic noise, but after about 10pm, it was nice and quiet.
